Jada Pinkett Smith said it best “Love can be exhilaratingly euphoric and exhaustingly annoying.”

The It’s Complicated theme of songs is dedicated to those who are confused about where they stand in their relationship and those who do not openly communicate on a consistent basis. It’s about the things that really matter, it’s about infidelity, a scorned woman, and a man in love who recognizes her worth, it’s about being hurt, yet still loving the one who caused that hurt. It’s about falling down and getting back up.

  2. It’s complicated Vol V: Wow, kicking off a show with Ultra Nate “twisted”, one of the most elegant tunes ever, sure this show will be a soulful one. Have seen later Ann “sista” Nesby, not sure where I like her more, within Sounds of Blackness or spinning off from the Band. More stuff to come.

    • Antonio, yes! When my ears first heard Twisted, it was an instant love affair!

      Ann Nesby I like either way, however on her own, she delves more into life situations and love/relationships that fall into the “theme” of things.

      • That’s why these shows are so amazing, they got the perfect portion of sex, sad, love and music. The tracks have all that ingredients by themselves, but if you joint a bunch in one shot, is the same if you leave a souse at the back of a liquor shop and close the shop until the morning after.

  4. I’ts complicated Vol VI:

    I’m running out of comments to your shows, It’s amazing that ability to match the accurate tracks to every show.
    As The Heath Brothers track title, “(There’s) A Time And A Place”, and you know when both have arrived.
    Again, some old friends and some new artists to me and a bunch that have already become old friends too.
    It has been a while since I have not listen to Mikki Howard, listening to Frank McComb, reminding always to Stevie voice, and in this particular track to Donny too. That organs, do not know if they are Hammond B3, but it does not matter at all.
    The usage of intros, preludes and outros, they were perfect when I recorded my shows on the old cassettes, and the space was running out, some of them were, are, little masterpieces.
